Dr. Rechner has been a Consultant at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation hospital since 2005. He underwent training at University College London, Oxford and Brisbane Australia. Dr. Rechner's main areas of specialization are general and regional Anaesthesia for shoulder surgery, paediatric and preoperative medicine. Intensive Care medicine makes up a large part of his job plan at the Royal Berkshire hospital. His main non clinical roles are as the Training Programme Director for Intensive Care Medicine in the Oxford deanery. He is an expert in the Hamilton ICU ventilator and runs the ICU computerised medical record. His main research area is early recognition and management of the acutely ill patient.
